Shirley accepted Christ as her lord and savior at the age of nine at the New Macedonian Baptist Church where she was baptized. She attended several churches during her life. However, affectionally called Pastor Willie J. Sams her Pastor and the Family Pastor and visited New Evangelical Bible Church Occasionally.
Shirley attended Dodge and Grant Elementary School, She also attended Lucy Flowers Vocational High School.
Shirley with her Simi-shy and quiet demeanor loved life, her smile and laughter would brighten up the darkest room, Shirley also loved cooking, music and having a good time with family and friends. Her favorite day of the week was Sunday which she said was a day of rest and for family gatherings, She would cook Sunday Dinner and surround herself with family. Her favorite Holiday is Thanksgiving, because she said it was the one special day of the year to give thanks to God for all the years blessings and all about families coming together,
Shirley had unconditional love for her family, friends and strangers alike also a special love and bond with her Grand and Great Grand Children. Her Heart Was Made Of Gold; she would welcome you warmly with no questions asked. She had an open door policy her home was your home and many called her home, Home. Throughout her 62 years of life she has touch many lives and was affectionally known as Ma Ma!
On September 29 2017, Shirley Lee Boyd-Wells made her transition at her home surrounded by family and friends from her earthly home to her heavenly home. She was summoned by our Heavenly Father and heard the Whispers of her love ones who precede her in death along with others, Predell and Ollie Boyd (Parents) Richard Boyd (Brother) Herman L Wells Jr. (son) Calvin Wells (son) Elvis Well, Magonolia Hope Alvin Wells (brother & Sister in law) Christian Boyd (grandson) Saying Job Well Done Its Time for You To Come Home.
Shirley leave to cherish her loving memory, Her husband of 41 years Herman Lee Wells Sr., three daughters, Shamek Boyd, Ericka Wells and Ashley Wells Davis(Damiem) daughter in law- Alicia Andrew –Wells {Herman jr.} two brothers, Calvin Boyd and Louis Session( Shirley) Edger Wells ( brother in law) four sisters,
Vera Boyd, Lenora Anna Boyd-Harris, Vanessa Boyd and Omelia Williams(Eugene) Sister in Laws, Dorothy, Polk, Glenda Coleman, Gloria Webber , Ten Grandchildren, Jessica, Terrance jr.Kardajia, Devona, Destinee, Akylah , Floyd, D’mayia,Neavah, Camryn. Six Great grand children, Lavar, Tarji, Te’andra, Princeston and two unborn great grand daughters step children Tameka, Ciji, Linda, Prentice, and Jalen along with a host of relatives and friends
