Hazel Smith Robinson, Johnson was born on January 20,1927 in Marvell, Arkansas, she was the first child born to Jesse Smith and Roosevelt Tate. She was raised by her grandmother Heneretta Tate on a farm in Phillips County.
Hazel professed hope in Christ at a young age at Wesley Chapel AME. Choosen to baptized rather than sprinkled. She was on the Mother Board at Wesley Chapel AME until her health failed.
Hazel attended school in Marvell, Arkansas. She worked at Cedar Lodge Nursing Home for over 30 years.
Hazel married Mose Robinson Sr. in March 1970. She remarried James Johnson in 1972 and became a mother to a special child James Ora Johnson, thereafter she became a widow to her second husband in the 1990's.
Mother was a mother to children in the community, encouraging them to follow Christ and be saved.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Mose Robinson Sr., and James Johnson, Roosevelt Prudume (mother), Jesse Smith (father), John Robinson (son), Roeshell Robinson(son), Ora Jean Day(daughter) and James Ora Johnson( daughter) and one brother Andrew Smith.
Mother Hazel leaves to celebrate her memory; five daughters, Bernice Robinson of Dallas, Texas, Bobbie Johnson of Little Rock Arkansas, Katherine Williams of Little Rock, Arkansas, Glendree Cobb(Raymond) of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Jessie Smith ( John) of Marvell, Arkansas; four sons, Lash Robinson (Wilma), Mose Robinson Jr., Lee Robinson ( Carol) all of Little Rock, Arkansas, James Brown of West Helena, Arkansas; two sister in laws, Elmo Greer of Chicago, Illinois, and Mose Lee Cheatum of Compton, California; two daughter in laws, Sera Robinson, Priscilla Robinson; and one son in law Rube Day ; 41 grandchildren, 107 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren and 7 great great great grandchildren; and one close friend Mrs. Myrtle Warren of Kansas City, MO., and one God son Bobby Boyd of Marvell, Arkansas and a host of relatives and friends.
